Beneath the Moon, A Hidden Truth

Gu Ping'an and her family are being hunted by the Empress. After accidentally falling off a cliff, Gu Ping'an is found by the assassin Xia Dachuan, who, moved by compassion, decides to adopt her. Many years later, Xia Dachuan falls seriously ill and, in despair, contemplates suicide. Meanwhile, Xia Zhiyi has pawned her personal jade pendant. After drinking poison, Xia Dachuan is found by Lu Wanqing and others, who have come seeking revenge. Just as Xia Dachuan is about to reveal that Xia Zhiyi is actually Gu Ping'an, he is interrupted by Gu Hongyun. Xia Dachuan dies before he can speak, and while Lu Wanqing decides to let go of the past, Gu Hongyun shifts his hatred onto Xia Zhiyi.
