Anna Reed is an admin assistant at Apex Construction Group and the company’s only French engineering interpreter. For six years, she handled all the translation for the company’s $900 million partnership with French clients. When new manager Coleman cuts her stipend upon taking office and replaces her with Jessica, a so-called French-educated master’s graduate, Anna refuses to translate. But when French client Martin arrives, Jessica is exposed on the spot. Martin insists that Anna be named in the contract as the project’s designated interpreter. But Coleman is far from done with her. As her translation studio and a six-year-old anonymous recommendation letter come to light, the battle takes an unexpected turn.
