Adrian Vale deeply loves his wife Mia Nolan. When Mia is diagnosed with stomach cancer requiring a million-dollar surgery, Adrian is set to sell their house to save her. His mother, however, suggests he fake a terminal illness to test Mia’s true loyalty. Mia falls for the lie and immediately drops her loving facade. She pretends to comfort him, yet secretly conspires with her mother to force Adrian into signing a harsh divorce agreement.
