Payback After Diagnosis

Lu Xiaomei, to support her family, sells stinky tofu near her school but is scorned by her daughter. Upset, she faints and is diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer. At home, her mother-in-law and brother-in-law manipulate her, and her husband is having an affair. After a fight with her in-laws, she returns to her family, but her unsympathetic mother criticizes her. Despairing, she considers suicide but is saved by an old classmate, Xu Lingchen. After spending the night at his place, Lu Xiaomei returns home and is caught by her mother-in-law. Her husband, seeing her in men's clothes, accuses her of cheating and insults her. Overwhelmed by years of mistreatment, Lu Xiaomei decides to divorce her husband and live for herself, determined to make her in-laws and family regret their actions.
