Gail East grew up in a loving family that ran an official conservatory. They took in the descendants of a fallen noble consort, only for the noble consort to repay their kindness with betrayal, destroying their family. In her past life, without family background, she entered the palace as a maid to assassinate the noble consort. After failing, she was brutally killed. In death, only a aloof yet powerful eunuch—who had crossed paths with her a few times—gave her a proper burial, preserving her final dignity. Awoken to her rebirth, Gail resolved to forge a different path. Since those noble masters saw servants as less than human, she would join forces with that equally lowly eunuch to scheme and stir up chaos.
