The Despised Man's Magic Turn

Your adoptive mother, suffering from lung cancer, travels to the Su family to see you before she dies. You ask the Su matriarch for $500,000 for her medical bills, but they refuse, offering only $20,000 as a hardship fee for your three years as a son-in-law, and demand you kick your mother out. Disappointed, you leave with your mother, only to witness an elderly man being hit by a car. You rush to help, but he grabs you and won't let go. You give him $2,000, and the man pulls you into a mystical space, revealing himself as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven. He takes you as a sworn brother, passes on his powers, and leaves you a manual teaching the "Earth Fiend Seventy-Two Transformations," along with three hairs that can save you three times.
